Farewell to Xbox 360: Store Closure and Content Retirement

No More New Content from July 2024

Attention Xbox 360 enthusiasts! Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 store will officially close its doors on July 29, 2024. This means that as of that date, gamers will no longer be able to purchase new games, downloadable content (DLC), movies, or avatars from the Xbox 360 store.

Final Price Reductions Before Store Closure

In a bid to clear out its remaining inventory, Microsoft has announced price reductions on many Xbox 360 games and DLC. These price cuts will offer a last chance for gamers to add to their Xbox 360 collections before the store closes.

Retirement of Xbox 360 Store and Marketplace

Along with the store closure, the Xbox 360 Marketplace will also be retired on July 29, 2024. This means that gamers will no longer be able to purchase any new content or redeem codes for the Xbox 360. However, existing content that has already been purchased will still be available for download and play.

Limited Functionality after Store Closure

While the Xbox 360 store will be closing, the console itself will continue to function. Gamers will still be able to play their existing games, use their online accounts, and access previously purchased content. However, they will not be able to purchase any new content or use services that require an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

No More Support for Content Purchases

Microsoft has emphasized that after July 29, 2024, it will no longer provide support for the purchase of new games, DLC, or other content for the Xbox 360. This means that gamers will not be able to receive refunds or technical assistance for any content purchased after the store closes.
