Gordon Hayward Trade Details

Thunder Acquire All-Star Forward Gordon Hayward

Former All-Star Joins Thunder in Blockbuster Trade

Hornets Receive Trio of Players and Draft Picks in Deal

The Oklahoma City Thunder have pulled off a blockbuster trade, acquiring All-Star forward Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Tre Mann, Vasilije Micic, and Davis Bertans. The deal also includes two future draft picks.

Hayward, 33, is a four-time All-Star and a former All-NBA selection. He averaged 16.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game last season for the Hornets, and he brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Thunder.

The Thunder have been looking to add a star player to their roster, and Hayward fits the bill perfectly. He is a versatile forward who can score, rebound, and pass. He will be a key part of the Thunder's young core, which includes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey.

The Hornets, meanwhile, get a package of young players and draft picks in return for Hayward. Mann is a promising young point guard who averaged 10.8 points and 3.9 assists per game last season. Micic is a talented playmaker who has had success in the EuroLeague. Bertans is a veteran forward who can provide shooting and rebounding.

The trade is a win-win for both teams. The Thunder get a star player to help them compete for a playoff spot, while the Hornets get a package of young players and draft picks that they can use to build for the future.
