Black Stars Coaches Resume Training After Ghastly Accident
Otto Addo, Paintsil, and Dauda Return to Duties
Ghana's Black Stars coaches Otto Addo, George Boateng, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Maxwell Konadu, Richard Kingson, Stephen Appiah, and Ibrahim Tanko have resumed training after a ghastly accident that occurred on Tuesday. The coaches were involved in an accident while returning from a scouting mission ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The accident happened on the Accra-Tema motorway when their vehicle collided with a tipper truck.
According to reports, the coaches sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Otto Addo, the head coach, suffered a broken arm and a concussion, while George Boateng sustained a broken leg. Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Maxwell Konadu, and Ibrahim Tanko also sustained minor injuries.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that all the coaches have been discharged from the hospital and are currently undergoing rehabilitation. The GFA also stated that the coaches will be closely monitored by the team's medical staff.
Ghana Prepares for AFCON Qualifiers
The Black Stars are scheduled to play Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on June 1 and 5, 2023. The team is expected to begin camping next week in preparation for the matches.
The Black Stars are hoping to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast. The team has not won the tournament since 1982 and will be looking to end their long drought.
