Genoa vs. Roma - prediction, team news, lineups
Genoa
Genoa will be looking to build on their impressive 2-0 win over Salernitana when they host Roma at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday. The Grifone are now unbeaten in their last three Serie A matches and will be confident of causing an upset against Jose Mourinho's side.
New signing Felipe Caicedo could make his debut for Genoa, while fellow striker Mattia Destro is also pushing for a start. Davide Zappacosta is a doubt with a muscle injury, but Mimmo Criscito is expected to return to the starting lineup.
Predicted lineup:
Sirigu; Hefti, Ostigard, Vanheusden, Criscito; Sturaro, Badelj, Rovella; Amiri; Destro, Caicedo
Roma
Roma will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona when they travel to Genoa. The Giallorossi have now won just two of their last five Serie A matches and will be keen to get back to winning ways.
Nicolo Zaniolo is still out with a knee injury, but Tammy Abraham and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are both expected to start. Jordan Veretout is a doubt with a knock, but Bryan Cristante is available again after serving a one-match suspension.
Predicted lineup:
Patricio; Maitland-Niles, Mancini, Ibanez, Vina; Cristante, Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; El Shaarawy, Abraham, Shomurodov
Prediction
This is a tough match to call, but Roma will be confident of victory given their superior quality. However, Genoa have been in good form of late and will be no pushovers. I predict a 2-1 win for Roma.
